Tin Type Portraits
In association with the NZIPP, Brian and Jane Scadden return with their replica travelling Victorian darkroom for some photographic fun! Using a process invented in the 1850s, Brian will use a bellows camera to create your very own handmade tintype photograph using the wet-plate collodion process, processed under a red light in the darkroom cart, then washed, dried and varnished and yours to take home about 2 hours later. The metal plate positive image is made with silver and light as in Victorian times. With care, these will last for decades without fading or changing colour, even if left in the sun. Happening in the courtyard outside Shed 6! Sessions are $50 cash on the day, but must be booked online in advance. Go to the BOOK NOW tab to secure your spot for this unique photographic opportunity.

A Christmas Wish by the Heart Project
The Heart Project is a group of photographers whose aim is to bring the joy and magic of Christmas to families when they can't go home to celebrate themselves. Too many families face endless stretches in hospital over this time so the Heart Project offers a very special Christmas photo - the secret is they don't realise just how special that photo will be! Started in Melbourne in 2016 by Karen Alsop/Story Art, Christmas Wish was launched in New Zealand in 2018. In our first year, we were able to photograph children at two hospitals – Christchurch Public Hospital and Starship Hospital – 27 children in total. Children and/or families are photographed against green screen, then the photographs are magically transformed into holiday-themed wonderlands. Photographers from all over the world participate in the project.
